5 Reasons Social Media Can Be Beneficial To Anyone

November 23rd, 2007 by Mack

I think different social news sites have different overall objectives and cater to different audiences of the Internet.  You can probably learn anything you need to know about interacting with these networks in a neat social media manual and other experts have summed up social media in a nutshell, but I would like to share 5 things I think anyone can benefit from social networking.

  • Networking, social media has played a big role in meeting some of top names in the business and has given me the chance to share my views with them.
  • Branding, social media is branding since my avatar or handle is right there next to every post I submit.  Clearly that can work both ways towards your overall trust and creditability.
  • In the know, today I find it one of the biggest challenges to stay on top of what is hot and what is not.  I just can’t search 20,000 blogs on a daily basis to stay up to date with what is going on in the world.
  • Intelligence, knowledge simply gained as I try to become an active participant in different networks.   On a daily basis I find myself reading, researching, and exploring new things.
  • New Resources, I might start off at a social network to read a new post, but I usually end up following a link or two from that page.  A site I didn’t know about yesterday is now on my daily checklist or queued up in the rss reader for tomorrow.
These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages.

I agree with bloggeries you have a very good grasp on this concept. I really like you site a lot as well. I will continue to visit your site for new blogs and I will also find time this week to have a look at all your resources.
